"I hired Blaze at Spirit Gallery to design a tattoo for me during the summer of 2009. I wanted something very specific and she drew a sketch for me which we were able to discuss in detail before our appointment.
Her reputation was so good that I traveled 3 hours from the NYC area to her shop for her to personally do the work for me, even though I could have walked to the closest tattoo shop from my home.
Since this was my first tattoo, I was very apprehensive, but Blaze and her staff immediately put me at ease. Her shop is very welcoming as well as beautifully decorated with her original artwork. Most importantly, her shop is absolutely spotlessly clean...a necessity for a tattoo shop.
Blaze knew just how to put me at ease during the whole process. She knows her craft well and was able to translate her artwork onto my skin beautifully. At the very end of the project, I decided to make a slight change in the design but adding one more small item and Blaze was able to do that for me.
The three hour trip to Spirit Gallery was well worth it and when the time comes for me to get my next tattoo, I will make that trip again. The choice of someone to do one's tattoo work should be a well researched decision, not only for the beauty of the artwork, but also for the cleanliness and hygienic practices of the facilities where such work is conducted.
Spirit Gallery fits all of the above criteria and I highly recommend them!"

“I have shopped around to several tattoo artists for a specific tattoo I had wanted. I had met and had consultations with several stores who "claimed" they did personal work, but then never got back to me, not even a phone call to say they didn't think they could do it.
When I went to Blaze's shop I did so because of her advertisement of being a fine arts student. Being an artist myself, this was Highly important to me as I was also extremely picky about what was going to be a permanent fixture on my body. Not only did she agree to do my design, she got back to me in the specified time period AND had a beautifully rendered draft of what I wanted in tattoo form.
