The Festival of Trees Success!
Wednesday December 02, 2009
The Festivals of Trees is an event that has been held for the past five years by the Downtown New London Association (DNLA) to help raise money to feed needy families during the holiday season. DNLA provides the trees, and local businesses and organizations volunteer to decorate a tree. The finished trees are then auctioned off to the highest bidder. Often, the winning bidder then donates the tree to be delivered the next day to a family in need.
Our tree for this year's auction was themed “Naughty and Nice”, and decorated in red and black, featuring Santas and skulls. Our tree auctioned for $500! We are very excited to have been a part of this wonderful tradition. Thanks to all who attended the event on Saturday and who bid on our tree!
