I have always believed that people get tattooed because they are searching for something tangible and beautiful to symbolize the most important aspects of themselves and the path they are traveling. My own tattoos are representations of my hopes and dreams, my history and my gifts.

I opened Spirit Gallery in July of 2007. The Gallery combines my love of painting and illustration with the transformational power of tattoos. I love portraiture, nature and wildlife tattoos, and enjoy story-telling and fantasy art. I continue to paint and study with artists who inspire me, and bring that inspiration into the tattoos I am honored to work on.

I am driven by art. It is at the center of my very being. For as long as I can remember I have been drawing pictures, and always had a camera in my backpack. I am always looking to discover new music, and write down random thoughts. I believe all of these art forms reflect on, and help build up one another. I went to The University of Connecticut where I honed my illustration and photography skills. After college I began working at Spirit Gallery where I learned all I know about tattooing. It has been an amazing and transformative experience as I learn and grow though the tattoos my clients allow me to create for them. I believe tattoos are always significant, whether through a symbol or image that has deep meaning, or simply as a marker celebrating a certain point or moment in a person’s life. These artworks are carried with the person forever, to constantly bring back these wonderful memories and emotions. It is a huge honor to have people allow me to provide this experience. It is my goal to continue learning from my peers and never settling for where I am at with my skill level, in photography, painting and especially tattooing.

I have always loved art, and began my tattooing career as a self-taught artist. Fortunately, I found an official apprenticeship at All-Out Tattoo in Norfolk, VA, in 2006 while I was in the Navy. Working in a tattoo studio was a great experience that taught me the ins and outs of tattooing and sterilization, and really pushed me to become an even better tattooist. I tattooed at All-Out for four years before moving back to my home state of CT in 2010, and joining the team of Spirit Gallery.

I am inspired by fellow tattoo artist Guy Aitchison, and enjoy organic pieces and bio-mechanical tattoos. Recently I have been breaking into realistic, portrait-style work, and am currently building my portfolio as I expand my techniques and skills. I plan to take classes in drawing, painting and sculpture at East Lyme Academy of Fine Art over the next few years to continue to grow as an artist.
