We have always believed that people get tattooed because they are searching for something tangible and beautiful to symbolize the most important aspects of themselves and the path they are traveling. Our own tattoos are representations of our hopes and dreams, our history and our gifts. Spirit Gallery was opened in 2007 by Blaze. The Gallery was created as a place where we could practice our craft in a calm, uncluttered and inspirational space - where our clients can feel comfortable receiving their tattoos without fear of judgment. They know that we understand how important their tattoos are to them and that we will take the time to create with them the art they needed to capture at this point in their lives. We sit with every client that comes to us in a 15-30 minute consultation so that we can understand the meaning, shape and form of their desired artwork. Then we create a custom piece that the wearer can be proud to bear for the rest of his or her life, knowing that both they and their artist took a lot of care in coming up with the perfect expression of their need. You will not find flash on our walls or a pile of tattoos to pick from when you arrive here. But you will find a gallery filled with paintings, photography and sculpture, and experienced artists that will treat you with respect and honesty as we work together to create your permanent body art. Please stop by and check us out - you will be happy you did! In 2009, Spirit Gallery moved to Bank Street in New London, CT. The new location allows for even larger gallery shows, more visibility to the artists that display their work with us, and a huge gallery space that doubles as a yoga studio and art class space throughout the year. Check the events page for more details or sign up for our email newsletter to stay in the loop!
Please say hello to the shop manager & resident piercer, Lari, while we're all busy tattooing he'll be right in front answering phone, and all your questions about your next custom tattoo!

“I've always enjoyed the primitive beauty of body piercings. I had been doing them on my own, for friends, for several years, then finally decided to formally apprentice at a piercing shop called The Hole in San Diego, CA. I spent a pretty amazing time there, learning all the ins and outs of the trade, doing piercings both standard and exotic. In time, I became their chief body piercer, and remained so until relocating to CT. I believe a well-placed body piercing can transform both body and spirit. Whether as a rite of passage, a symbol of personal importance, or just because it looks really cool, piercings set us apart from the everyday world.”
